Kuala Lumpur , May 27 — The health ministry has reported 7,857 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

This is the 3rd time that daily cases have exceeded 7,000 since the pandemic began.

In a tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 2,675, followed by Sarawak at 772 and Kelantan at 754.

Perlis, which is the smallest state in Malaysia, recorded the least number of new cases with 6 new infections, followed by the Federal Territories of Putrajaya at 12 and Labuan at 170.
