KANGAR, Nov 3 — The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail today advised residents in the state who are affected by floods to be wary of their safety so as to avoid any untoward incidents.

He said that apart from drowning, residents should also beware of being bitten by poisonous animals as well as the risk of being electrocuted during floods.

“All flood victims must also practise personal hygiene,” he said in a statement today.

He said this when he visited a shop in Jalan Datuk Ali here which is one of the entrepreneurial projects that received socio-economic contributions from the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs).

Several areas in Arau, near here, have been inundated since last night following heavy rain on Monday.
