An Initiative to Become Little International Peace Messengers by Nanjing Peace-loving students
Dear fellow students:
Peace and development are the common and eternal pursuit of mankind. History has proved time and again that the disasters of wars have brought us painful lessons. It has also proved that only harmonious co-existence can bring a better life to mankind.
In the cold winter 84 years ago, invading Japanese troops stormed into the city of Nanjing, which is known as the Nanjing Massacre that shocked the world. This pains have been permanently inscribed in the memory of Nanjing, a deep disaster for the city of Nanjing and the entire Chinese nation, and a very dark page in the history of human civilization. Today, having experienced hardships, Nanjing cherishes peace and wishes for a harmonious world.
The world today is undergoing great changes unprecedented in the past century. Maintaining peace is the responsibility of everyone in the world, especially teenagers. December 13 of this year is the eighth National Memorial Day for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre. Here, we advocate children and youth all over the world to become “international peace messengers” and build a better world together!
First, learn about the history and understand why.History is the best textbook and the best sobering agent.We should study it seriously, cognize it correctly, draw lessons from history and enhance the strength to forge ahead.
Second, pray for peace. Peace is to be fought for and maintained. We should take active actions to spread the concept of peaceful development, pool forces for peaceful development, and cherish and uphold peace.
Third,work hard. We should be firm in our ideals and beliefs, have the courage and confidence to overcome all dificulties and obstacles, study hard and make unremitting efforts in order to realize sustainable and peaceful development of the world and promote a community with a shared future for mankind.
