KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 — The 16th edition of Food and Hotel Malaysia (FHM) 2022 which will be held from today until April 1, aims to help businesses bounce back from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said businesses should enhance their services to keep customers satisfied and adopt healthier and sustainable practices to be responsible corporate citizens as the nation would be opening its international borders this April.
“The prospects to do all this and more for your business can be found here at FHM 2022, so don’t miss this golden opportunity,” she said in her opening speech at the FHM 2022 Trade Event held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, here today.
She said Malaysians should also adopt a cooperative approach in working together to discover ideas, technologies, and solutions that can help advance and promote Malaysian food and hospitality industry.
“We are now entering what World Tourism Organisation (WTO) calls the recovery phase, with almost all economic sectors fully reopened and the national economy on course to recover… I am sure we are all excited to welcome tourists back to Malaysia,” she said.
Organised by Informa Markets Malaysia, the event which will feature 200 participating brands including FrieslandCampina Professional, Pastry Pro, Bidfood Malaysia and Global Pacific Victory is poised to welcome over 8,000 attendees during the week.
According to Informa Markets Asia co-chairman Gen Tan Sri Mohd Azumi Mohamed a wide range of activities would be held throughout these four days to provide a positive and diverse experience for exhibitors, sponsors, and participants.
Two much-anticipated mouth-watering side events are the ‘Battle of the Chefs’ by Culinaire Malaysia, as well as a Pastry Innovation Lab featuring top Malaysian pastry chefs crafting showpiece desserts and pastries.
Meanwhile, Informa Markets Asia president and CEO Margaret Ma said the event would also feature new advancements in Industry 4.0, Automation, Robotics and Internet of Things applications and technologies giving the opportunity for industry players to keep up with the latest innovations.
