ARAU, 18 April — Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail students and staff of institutions of higher learning (IPT) in the state to make the best of the Ramadan month by planning their time well.

 “Be highly spirited to do your job as we are eager to give alms and do more good in seeking for His blessings,” he said at an Iftar for IPTs in Perlis which was held at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) yesterday.

Also present was the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.

Meanwhile, UniMAP) vice-chancellor Prof Ts Dr Zaliman Sauli said all IPTs in Perlis should use their respective areas of expertise to develop the local community.

He said UniMAP welcomed other IPTs and agencies willing to work with the university.

Among the projects that had been carried out, he said, was the Kampung Warna-warni Royal Project,  Kampung Seberang Ramai Transformation Programme, in Kuala Perlis.

It was carried out since December 2020 with the cooperation of various agencies, educational institutions, uniformed bodies, the private sector, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and individuals, and supported by the  Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) and Tuanku Syed Putra Foundation (YTSP), he added.
