ARAU, May 5 — About 20,000 people of all races attended the Aidilfitri open house for the Arau parliamentary constituency last night.
Arau member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr. Shahidan Kassim said the event was held to enliven this year’s Aidilfitri after two years of having to scale down celebrations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We can see the presence of people from all walks of life, including leaders of political parties that enlivens the event,” he said at the event which was held at Dewan Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) Kubang Gajah, here.
Shahidan who is also Federal Territories Minister said the event was also held to strengthen the bonds of friendship and unity among the people in the parliamentary constituency.
At the event, he also gave out ‘duit raya’ to children who attended the open house.
