KUALA LUMPUR, 26 JULY 2022 – The 2022 “Silk Road Manufacturing-Malaysia Kulim Hi-Tech Park Cross-border Matchmaking Event” was successfully held on the “CCB MatchPlus” platform. The event was co-hosted by China Construction Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Kulim Technology Park Corporation Sdn Bhd, Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and the Quill Group, and co-organized by seven branches of China Construction Bank. 

The event took place at Menara CCB Kuala Lumpur and attracted more than 150 high-quality enterprises from Malaysia and China.

Mr. Lu Shiwei, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Penang said, “The manufacturing industry is the foundation and support for countries along the “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)” to achieve industrial revitalization and sustainable economic development. Intelligent manufacturing led by information technology will play a decisive role in the future development of the manufacturing industry. China and Malaysia share the same vision, and enterprises of the two countries have huge potential for cooperation in the area of intelligent manufacturing and digital economy. The Chinese Consulate General in Penang will continue to provide support for the economic and trade exchanges between Chinese provinces and cities and Kedah, promote joint cooperation of the BRI between China and Malaysia, and push the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries and local governments to a higher level.” 

”Kulim Hi-Tech Park can provide world-class industrial ecosystem and supply chain and warmly welcomes industrial players from China,” said YBhg Dato’ Hj Mohd Sahil Zabidi, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Kulim Technology Park Corporation Sdn Bhd.  “At the same time, I would like to thank China Construction Bank, Quill and Huawei to moot this idea with potential investors and to share the potential investment opportunities offered by KHTP.” He added.

Mr. Michael Yuan, the Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, said, “The construction of smart industrial parks is an important part to achieve sustainable social development. Digitally operated parks can also help companies discover new business models and improve experience and operational efficiency.”

An in-depth integration will enhance the resilience and vitality of the regional economy, and impart confidence and impetus into promoting regional and world economic development. During the event, KTPC introduced the ecosystem and facilities at Kulim Hi-Tech Park as well as shared the advantages in investing at Kulim Hi-Tech Park. Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and the Quill Group also provided more insights on the construction of Smart Industrial Park.

The success of this event has further promoted the sustainable development of China-Malaysia economic, trade and investment cooperation, enhancing the bilateral industrial structure between Malaysia and China, and created a favorable environment for China and Malaysia to “share development opportunities and create a better future”.
