KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has congratulated the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on being awarded an honorary doctorate by the Marmara University in Turkiye.
“My heartiest congratulations to His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah over the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate in Political Science and International Relations from Marmara University, Turkiye,” he said on his Facebook page.
Yesterday, the king was awarded the honorary doctorate in recognition of his contributions to maintaining global peace and strengthening Turkish-Malaysian relations.
The Honorary Doctorate was presented by Marmara University’s rector Prof Dr Mustafa Kurt in a ceremony at the university.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong are on a seven-day state visit to Turkiye which began Monday (Aug 15).
