KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 — Congratulatory remarks poured in from politicians following the announcement of the unity government Cabinet line-up by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tonight.

Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman wished success to the Cabinet members who will be sworn in before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah tomorrow.

“Always do your best and give it all to our beloved Malaysia and Malaysians. Let’s work together for a better Malaysia,” he said via a Facebook posting.

Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin also congratulated Dr Zaliha Mustafa on her appointment as the new Health Minister via his official Twitter.

“May you succeed and continue to fight for an excellent public health system and receive allocations that commensurate with the hard work of the MOH (Ministry of Health) personnel. All the best,” he said.

Meanwhile, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali congratulated Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister as well as the Cabinet Ministers of the unity government.

“I would also like to congratulate (Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu senior vice president) Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof who has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister,” he said via his Facebook page.

Sulaiman said he hoped that the new Cabinet line-up could strengthen unity for the sake of the country’s progress.
