MELAKA, Jan 11 — The five assemblymen of Melaka Pakatan Harapan (PH) are unanimous in not using the facilities of the State Legislative Assembly Development and Coordination Committee Offices (Japerun) for the time being.

Ayer Keroh assemblyman Kerk Chee Yee said the move was taken as there was no clear guidelines from the Melaka state government on their position in the administration structure of Japerun now.

“We have earlier held discussions with ourselves and decided not to use the facilities for the time to avoid confusion among the people.

“I was invited to attend a meeting of Ayer Keroh Japerun yesterday but so far, there was no change in its administration structure,” he told reporters in Ayer Keroh here today.

However, Kerk said he would share  a report received from his office to Ayer Keroh Japerun to resolve the problems of residents in his state constituency.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali was earlier reported as saying that PH assemblymen are allowed to use Japerun facilties to assist the people in their respective constituencies.

The Japerun chairman is usually accorded to government assemblyman while a coordinator will be appointed as chairman of a Japerun if the government candidate lost to the opposition.
