KANGAR, Feb 1 — The young generation of scouts who are still in school need to be exposed to leadership knowledge to further improve their competency, said the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullai.

The Raja Muda said the leadership training must also be in line with current developments in education.

“I hope attention will be paid to the development of the scout camp in Jalan Sungai Batu Pahat. The Perlis Scout Association has been based there for more than 50 years.

“Due to lack of infrastructure and limited maintenance, the place cannot be fully optimised to carry out activities, and there is concern that this could endanger users of the camp,” said Tuanku Syed Faizuddin in his speech at the presentation of the Perlis Scouts Association of Malaysia’s stars and medals at a ceremony yesterday.

The Istana Arau, in a statement issued today, stated that Tuanku Syed Faizuddin awarded the stars and medals to 143 recipients, including five from Thailand for their outstanding services to the Perlis Scouts Association of Malaysia and the Scout Movement.
