Following his surprise visit to Ukraine, US President Joe Biden is expected to try and shore up support for Kyiv during a speech in Poland later.

He will make his address in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, which has emerged as one of Ukraine’s strongest allies.

His speech comes hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Moscow was suspending participation in a key arms control treaty with the US in his state of the nation address.

The leaders’ competing speeches come days before the first anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
