KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has expressed his appreciation to Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (KPK) secretary-general Datuk Zurinah Pawanteh, who will retire on May 7 this year.

Fadillah, who is also Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, said he had the opportunity to chair the post-Cabinet meeting today which was attended by Zurinah.

“I wish to express my deepest appreciation and thanks to her for her service and commitment throughout her tenure with the ministry.

“Thank you for the close cooperation and advice to KPK in driving the agricommodity sector,” he said in a post on Facebook today.

He said Zurinah, who will go on leave from May 5, is the longest-serving officer of the ministry, having started her career as assistant secretary in the Palm Oil Industry Division at the Ministry of Primary Industries in 1989.

“She began her career in this ministry and is ending it here too. We value her services,” he added.
