KOTA KINABALU, May 22 — The launch of the National Day and Malaysia Day logo and theme will be held simultaneously at the 1Borneo Hypermall shopping, here; Mydin Petra Jaya in Kuching, Sarawak; and Tasik Simponi, Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) on Saturday (May 27).

Sabah Information Department director Jainisah Mohd Noor said the 11 am simultaneous launch was something different this year.

“Those around Kota Kinabalu are invited to turn up in full force to enliven the launch ceremony,” she told reporters after a guest appearance on the ‘Kami Bah Ini (KBI)’ segment at RTM Sabah, Ministry of Communications and Digital Integrated Complex, here, today.

She said the launch ceremony in Sabah will be officiated by Sabah Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun and broadcast live on TV1 of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and streamed live via the Information Department and Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) Facebook pages.

She added that the National Day and Malaysia Day launch ceremonies would be held early to enable all departments, agencies, non-governmental organisations and government-related companies to plan and implement related programmes.

She said various programmes have been drawn up to enliven the National Day celebrations on Aug 31 until the Malaysia Day do on Sept 16, just like in previous years, including Kembara Merdeka and oratory competitions.

“A day before the launch, on May 26, an exhibition will be held by agencies under KKD, such as interactive sessions, traditional performances and singing as well as on Malaysia Day and the logo,” she said.
