KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — UMNO Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh will meet with Pakatan Harapan (PH) Youth chief Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen to discuss the action plan ahead of the six upcoming state elections.

He said this proved that there was no problem of working with the parties that were part of the Unity Government following his statement demanding that DAP make a public apology for all the statements and accusations that have been hurled at UMNO.

“I want to make it clear that the relationship between UMNO Youth and PH Youth or those from the Unity Government is very good, in fact, we just finished (attending) the National Convention of the Unity Government and Alhamdulillah, the convention went very, very well.

“…but when we are at the general assembly, this is a place for us to bring the voices of the grassroots, we are the conveyors, and this does not mean that our relationship with the PH Youth or the youth in the Unity Government is not good,” he said after visiting the media centre at the 2023 UMNO General Assembly at the World Trade Centre here, today.

He said the statement ‘DAP needs to apologise’ was made on the basis of bringing the voices of the grassroots to the upper level, and it was also the best way to ease the tension.

Meanwhile, Muhamad Akmal said that UMNO, which was currently at its ‘lowest point’, needed help and ideas from all those who still loved the party.

“What’s important is we want to see UMNO regain the trust of the people,” he said.
