GEORGE TOWN, June 17 — Seat allocation negotiations among Perikatan Nasional (PN) component parties for the upcoming state elections are almost done, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

The Pagoh MP said the parties will finalise talks on Wednesday.

“If you’re asking if all the (component) parties are satisfied with the outcome, (of course) all of them will say no. PAS happy? No. Bersatu even more (not satisfied). Gerakan as well,” he said when speaking at the Penang PN Convention and launch of state PN election machinery here today.

Also present were Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai, who is also Penang PN chairman, and state PN leaders.

Meanwhile, Muhyiddin claimed that the enthusiasm shown by voters, especially the Malays, to support  PN in the state polls was currently at an extraordinary level.

Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan and Penang will be facing state elections anytime soon although their respective state legislative assemblies are expected to be dissolved on different dates.

Separately, Muhyiddin confirmed that he will be meeting former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin next week.

Muhyiddin, who is Bersatu president, hoped the former UMNO youth chief will agree to join PN.

“I have set the date and Khairy and his delegation will meet me next week, we are confident he will make a wise decision,” he said.
