JOHOR BAHRU, June 22 — The Ministry of Health (MoH) has given an allocation of RM450,000 for the upgrade of Tongkang Pechah Health Clinic in Batu Pahat.

Johor Health and Unity Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said among others, the funds would be used to install and upgrade fences, parking lots, improve landscape, laboratory and toilet facilities, install air conditioners and replace electrical cables.

He said the clinic had been operating since 1988 and the population in the area has increased from 20,000 to 80,000.

“I have been visiting the clinic in the last three months and I find that the building and facilities here are outdated and very run down.

The public as well as Parit Yaani assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Najib Samuri have been telling me about the condition of the clinic,” he said in a post on his official Facebook, today.

Ling said the clinic treats about 250 patients a day and the upgrading works  are expected to run smoothly this year.
