JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 5 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Suhaizan Kaiat is satisfied with the progress of the early voting process for the Pulai parliamentary by-election today.

He described the process as being well-organised, with no undesirable incidents reported.

“Alhamdulillah, the process is going smoothly. We have two early voting centres, which are at the Marine Police Region 2 Headquarters and the Kempas Police Station, which will close at 5 pm and noon, respectively,” he told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Suhaizan stressed that the use of the PH logo indicates that all parties within the Unity Government are participating in the by-election, with him representing them.

“The same goes for the Pelangai state by-election. Although there has not been a decision yet, the seat is currently held by Barisan Nasional (BN), so we (PH) will support BN later,” he said when asked about how PH can win the votes of BN supporters when there is no ‘dacing’ (scales) logo on the ballot paper.

The Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state by-elections will see a three-cornered fight between PH, Perikatan Nasional and independent candidates.

Both by-elections are being held following the death of its incumbent, Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who was also the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, on July 23.

Polling has been set for Sept 9.
