TALLINN (Estonia), Sept 16 — Perlis welcomes assistance and support from foreign and local investors in businesses which can promote the state, said the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.

He said that it can help local youths get jobs and then venture into business.

“At the same time, the Perlis government also needs assistance in the form of financial resources, as well as advisory services, promotions and a broader network of joint ventures to make the Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025 promotional campaign a success,” he said at a Perlis food promotion at Chakra Restaurant here today.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) chancellor, is leading the university’s 17th Jelajah Ilmu (Knowledge Tour) to the Baltic countries, from Sept 10 to 17.

He is being accompanied by Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, who is UniMAP pro-chancellor, and their son Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra.

UniMAP vice-chancellor, Datuk Prof Dr Zaliman Sauli, was also present.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also expressed hope that with strong support from all parties, Perlis will be able to further develop as a centre for ecotourism, agrotourism, food tourism and sports tourism.

“Perlis’ potential is seen to be increasingly evident. It is hoped that it will increase the income of the tourism industry players in the state, and further strengthen the gross domestic product (GDP) for the tourism sector.

“In that regard, any form of sponsorship and new ideas are welcome, in order to jointly contribute to the success of the Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025,” he added.
