KANGAR, Nov 28 — Workers in the technical field need to always equip themselves with the latest skills based on technological developments and industry needs of the future, such as the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).

Raja Muda Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said that global developments, especially IR4.0, is based on the latest technology that features industrial and economic development as well as a faster, smarter and more dynamic lifestyle.

”A country cannot be successful without a trained, competitive workforce that has current skills and capabilities,” he said when officiating the state-level 2023 National Technical Profession Day (HPTN) event at Dewan 2020 here today, in the presence of Public Works Ministry deputy secretary-general (management sector) Mohd Sakeri Abdul Kadir and Perlis Public Works Department (JKR) director Mohd Shahril Mohd Said. 

Meanwhile, Mohd Shahril said in his speech that HPTN can be a platform for technical professionals to voice their ideas and views and promote their professions by instilling elements of the technical field among youth.

Perlis JKR is organising the first HPTN celebrations this year, with the 2023 HPTN theme of ‘Technical Professions Driver of Malaysia MADANI Development’.
