KANGAR, Dec 5 — The healthcare capacity in Perlis needs to be further improved to accomodate the increase in patients in view of the population increase in the state as well as the expected tourist arrivals during the Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025 campaign, said the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.

Additionally, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said that Malaysia, and in particular Perlis, very much needed the services of medical specialists who possess the latest knowledge and skills to treat patients holistically.

“Cooperation with countries which have high-performing health systems need to be enhanced in efforts to improve the existing system,” he said in a statement today.

According to the statement, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said this when officiating the the Malaysian Advanced Acute Internal Medicine and Ultrasound Society Acute Medicine Congress (MAAIMUSS) during the First Perlis International Acute Medicine Conference 2023 held at the Perlis Health Department here on Sunday (Dec 3).

The statement said the conference was a MAAIMUSS initiative, in collaboration with the College of Physicians Malaysia and Health Ministry through the Perlis Health Department as well as the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) which aims to improve the standard of treatment for patients with acute symtoms in this country among doctors specialising in Internal Medicine.

“The objectives include upgrading the skills of doctors in Malaysia using the knowledge and skills that have been proven at HTF, Perlis,” said the statement.
