BEIJING, <arch 1 – China’s second domestically made, large cruise ship is scheduled to begin construction in April 2024, and be delivered by the end of 2026, according to Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., LTD.

The second ship is expected to float out in May 2025, undock in March 2025 and start a trial run in 2026.

The new cruise ship, 341 meters long and 37.2 meters wide, has a gross tonnage of about 142,000, with 2,144 rooms and a 6-story living and entertainment area.

It will be equipped with two desulfurization towers, as well as selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.

It is not a duplication of the Adora Magic City, but an upgraded version 17.4 meters longer, 0.67 million tons heavier and with 19 more rooms, according to an insider.

The ship’s outfitting project officially started in February.

The company will continuously make efforts to enhance the second cruise ship’s design, craftsmanship, construction and facilities to achieve higher quality and greater efficiency, said the vessel manufacturer.
