BEIJING, March 8 – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday said China will continue speaking for justice, promoting win-win cooperation in 2024.

Wang made the remarks in response to a question from China Media Group about the country’s foreign policy this year ahead during a press conference on the sidelines of the second session of the 14th National People’s Congress in Beijing.

“We will be more confident, self-reliant in cultivating the features of China’s diplomacy. We will be more open and inclusive and conduct diplomacy with a broad vision,” said Wang.

He vowed to uphold fairness and justice, and further establish the ethos of China’s diplomacy, adding China will promote win-win cooperation, and stay true to the ideal of China’s diplomacy.

Responding to a question on the prospects of building a community with a shared future for mankind, Wang pointed out that building a community with a shared future for mankind has developed from a conceptual proposition to a scientific system, from a Chinese initiative to an international consensus, and from a promising vision to practical outcomes, showing strong vitality.

The number one reality in today’s world is that all countries rise and fall together, and that the sure path to meeting the challenges is mutual assistance and win-win cooperation, he noted.

“The future of humanity should be decided by all countries together, and that the future of the world should be built by all peoples together,” said Wang.

In terms of China’s neighbourhood diplomacy, Wang stressed that since President Xi Jinping initiated the neighbourhood diplomacy featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, China has worked with our neighbors to open up new prospects for good neighbourliness and friendship, and have found the distinctive Asian way for getting along well with each other.

Wang added China and its neighbouring countries should resolve differences and frictions through dialogue and consultation and jointly address various risks and challenges.

Asia is our common home, and to build this home well is the common aspiration of all countries in the region.
