JAKARTA, March 14 – Indonesian President Joko Widodo convened a special meeting on Wednesday with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, representatives from the Public Works and Housing Ministry, the Nusantara Capital City Authority, and other relevant staff members to discuss expediting the development of the country’s new capital.

According to Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, the meeting decided to quicken the process of determining the land status and providing it for investment in the new capital.

To improve communication with investors, the meeting also decided to provide Persons in Charge (PIC) with an investment complaints desk.

Apart from that, the provision of clean water and toll roads is targeted to be completed by the middle of this year.

President Joko Widodo plans to start working in the new capital in Kalimantan in July, following the completion of the airport and the availability of clean water.
