NANNING, April 7 – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to continue to strengthen the construction of border crossings as China’s Gateway to ASEAN countries.

Wang made his remarks during an inspection tour to Guangxi.

He said this is to inject new impetus to the promotion of high-level opening up, to the deepening of China-ASEAN cooperation, and to the building of a hub where both domestic and international markets can operate conveniently.

Wang said Guangxi should actively serve the construction of a China-ASEAN community with a shared future, deeply integrate into the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and continue to burnish the sterling reputation of the China-ASEAN Expo.

He added Guangxi should strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam, consolidate the public opinion and social foundation of Sino-Vietnamese friendship.
