JAKARTA, May 27 – The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its support for the recent ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), ordering Israel to immediately halt its military offensive in Rafah.

In a social media post on Sunday, the ministry emphasised the crucial importance of ensuring unimpeded access to the Gaza Strip for any commission of inquiry, fact-finding mission, or other investigative body tasked with investigating allegations of genocide.

Furthermore, the ministry underscored Indonesia’s call for Israel to “immediately comply with the measures ordered by the Court without reservation”, and highlighted the critical role of the United Nations Security Council in ensuring their implementation.

The top United Nations court, ICJ, ruled on Friday that Israel must stop its military actions in Rafah, keep the Rafah border crossing open for humanitarian aid, and provide a report on its compliance within a month.
