KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — DSA Exhibition And Conference Sdn Bhd has deferred the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2020 and NATSEC Asia 2020 exhibitions by almost two years to March 28-31, 2022.

The event organiser said the decision was made following exhaustive consideration with various stakeholders including co-organisers — the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs and Malaysian Armed Forces.

“Initially slated for April 2020 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), the mega-events were postponed to August (this year) following the COVID-19 outbreak.

“As the crisis escalated, it was deemed in the best interest of all parties involved to defer the event to early 2022,” it said in a statement today.

Chairman Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin said the heavy decision was taken as the company put health and wellbeing of everyone concerned as the utmost and uncompromised priority.

“With more than 1,500 participating companies from over 60 countries, some 350 VIP delegations from 30 countries and the expected 50,000 visitors from all corners of the world, it was only prudent to look at a revised date, to ensure a conducive and productive business environment for our stakeholders,” he said.

The mega-events will feature focused segments involving not just a conventional defence platform but also cyber defence, unmanned systems and battlefield healthcare as well as invaluable opportunities for strategic alliances, business collaboration and successful networking between major players in the defence and securities and government agencies.
