PUTRAJAYA, May 12 — Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd today donated 1,000 boxes of face masks to the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) for frontliners to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Its chief executive officer Michael Yuan handed over the aid to Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, here today.

As one of the leading ICT enterprises, Yuan said it was part of Huawei’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to help Malaysians during this crucial time.

“Apart from face masks, Huawei, last month, donated telecommunication equipment to the Health Ministry to help doctors and nurses communicate smoothly,” he said.

Huawei had also built an artificial intelligent cloud computing platform, for hospitals to help reduce COVID-19 patient detection time, he said.
