MARCH 31 — The Chinese mainland recorded eight new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, five from overseas and six domestic cases in southwest China’s Yunnan Province, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Wednesday.

No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported, the NHC said.

Eight new asymptomatic cases from overseas were recorded the same day, and 255 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

This brought the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 90,201, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
