KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20  — Flood evacuees at several relief centres in Selangor were touched by the visit of Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Muhaini Zainal Abidin and their daughter Datin Nina Sabrina Ismail Sabri.

Muhaini and her eldest daughter Nina Sabrina who were present without security control and protocol mingled with the victims as well as presented donations of basic necessities to them.

It is understood that Muhaini and Nina Sabrina visited relief centres at Shah Alam City Council Kekwa Hall in Section 17, Shah Alam; Sekolah Rendah Agama Sementa and Sekolah Rendah Agama Dusun Nanding.

Most of the flood victims housed at the relief centres did not expect Muhaini and Nina Sabrina to turn up and some were moved to tears over the concern shown by them.

Meanwhile, despite being hit by the worst floods so far, the residents of Taman Sri Nanding, Hulu Langat continue to be strong and positive in facing the challenges that befell them.

A check by Bernama found that most of the houses in the area were covered with mud and the residents were having difficulty doing the cleaning work due to the lack of water and electricity supply.

Nik Nor Azilawati Nik Mohamad Din, 40, who had lived in the area for more than 14 years said she did not expect the floods to be this bad and cause huge losses to them.

Meanwhile, the relief centre at Sekolah Rendah Agama Dusun Nanding, which is housing 177 families, was being used as a collection centre for flood donations.
