KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 — Maxis Berhad (Maxis) community outreach programme, eKelas Usahawan, has successfully trained more than 1,000 entrepreneurs, including women from the B40 group, since its commencement last year to help them develop a stronger digital presence.

Maxis in a statement today said the programme consists of a series of digital workshops with a practical and hands-on approach to equip entrepreneurs through modules including tips and basic skills on marketing, digital photography and copywriting, as well as planning for marketing and advertising campaigns via online and social media platforms.

It said eKelas Usahawan workshops are held virtually via public webinars along with Maxis’ training partners and with support from its own volunteers, mSquad, where needed.

“Maxis has also worked with various non-governmental organisations (NGO) and state agencies including Yayasan Hijrah Selangor and Iskandar Regional Development Authority among others, who have supported the programme by identifying participants for dedicated sessions and assisting with on-ground logistics,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, Maxis is also in discussion with potential partners to get more entrepreneurs, especially women, to benefit from the programme.

Its chief corporate affairs officer, Mariam Bevi Batcha, also expressed hope to see more women across the country signing up for eKelas Usahawan this year.

Interested participants may register to join the programme for free at https://www.maxis.com.my/en/about-maxis/corporate-responsibility/.
