MELAKA, Sept 14 — Some 200 ‘evamatic’ mats will be distributed to visitors attending the Malaysia Day 2022 celebration at the Independence Declaration Memorial Square in Banda Hilir this Friday.

Perbadanan Melaka Holdings Sdn Bhd (PMH) chief operating officer Siti Ainshah Osman said the mats, measuring 4×5 metres each, will be given free of charge to those who come with their families to provide comfort throughout the event.

“A total of 200 mats will be distributed on the night of the celebration and we will increase the number according to situation and needs.

“PMH staff will distribute the mats to visitors, especially those with small children around the main stage and Dataran Sejarah, so that they can enjoy the celebration more comfortably,” she told Bernama.

About 20,000 visitors are expected to enliven the Malaysia Day celebration this year, with fashion from the 50s and 60s era chosen as the theme for the celebration.

Dataran Pahlawan, located next to the Independence Declaration Memorial Square, will also be used to house a giant screen and audio system to allow visitors to watch the live streaming of the celebration.
