KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — An inter-ministry programme is being held in conjunction with the 2023 National Month celebration which give the civil servants the opportunity to show their love and patriotism for the country in addition to boosting team spirit.
Secretary-general of the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa said the programme involves 25 ministries, with each ministry will be assessed based on three aspects namely, creativity, innovation and added value which are combined with the National Day-themed decorations in their respective premises and office spaces.
“We emphasise using recycled materials such as water bottles and boxes because creativity is not guided by the quality of the material alone but by the way the material is being used and translated, in line with the theme of the celebration.
“The evaluation will also cover all levels of officers, which means there is involvement from all parties because what is important is teamwork. Although the evaluation will be carried out at a certain space at the ministry, we encourage participants to decorate the entire building if they have the means,” he said while appearing as a guest on TV1’s ‘Selamat Pagi Malaysia’ programme today.
Mohamad Fauzi, who is also the 2023 National Day and Malaysia Day Celebration Committee chairperson, said the fun-filled programme commenced from the date of the launch of the National Month and the Fly of the Jalur Gemilang on July 16 and will last until Sept 16, while the evaluation period will be held from Aug 10 to 22.
He said the winners will be celebrated in an appreciation ceremony which will be attended by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali with attractive prizes awaiting them including certificates, plaques and RM1,000 cash.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Fauzi said the National Day celebration which will take place at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31 is expected to attract up to 100,000 visitors.
He said the parade session will involve 10 contingents based on clusters such as the economic cluster, banking, communication, creative industry and security.
“This year, we are once again bringing, among others, a combat action segment from the Malaysian Armed Forces and Very Able Troopers (VAT 69) Commando, a demonstration from the K9 Detection Unit, performances and drum segment under the National Department of Culture and Arts,” he said.
He said the full National Day parade rehearsal will be held from Aug 25.
