SINGAPORE, Feb. 17 – The non-oil domestic exports (NODX) in Singapore expanded 16.8 percent in January from a low base a year ago, following the 1.5 percent decline last December, according to the government agency Enterprise Singapore Friday.

Total exports of the city-state increased 16.7 percent year-on-year in January, and total imports grew 11.1 percent, Enterprise Singapore said.

NODX to Singapore’s top markets as a whole expanded in January. The Chinese mainland, China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the United States were the top contributors to the growth, the data showed.

NODX to the Chinese mainland expanded 101.3 percent in January, driven by significant growth in specialized machinery, non-monetary gold, and measuring instruments.

The oil domestic exports of Singapore grew 6.2 percent in January, according to the agency.
