ALOR SETAR, April 21 – Ramadan bazaar traders in Kedah are being reminded to display their prices to avoid getting penalised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).

KPDNHEP Kedah director, Rae Morn Verak, said that a monitoring exercise since April 13 has shown that bazaar traders are still failing to display their prices.

“However, no fines have been issued so far. We will give them more time to comply but we will take action if they continue to do so.

“The state KPDNHEP will also continue price and SOP (standard operating procedure) monitoring at Ramadan and Hari Raya bazaars, as well as other crowd-drawing locations,” he said after a joint inspection at the Stadium Darul Aman Ramadan bazaar with the Alor Setar City Council (MBAS) today.

He said KPDNHEP had also launched the “Penguatkuasaan Prihatin” exercise on March 5 to help traders from target groups affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We want to get their feedback on how we can provide support. We will also be giving advice,” said Rae Morn.
